This is my favorite painting from 2021. It features the beautiful bananaquit bird or as we call them in Puerto Rico, the Reinita ("small queen"). This beautiful bird is endemic to Puerto Rico and embodies the natural beauty that Puerto Rico's flora and fauna have to offer.
Originally conceived as the cover for a coloring book featuring different types of birds from Puerto Rico, this amazing piece was painted over 10hrs using Adobe Photoshop and consisted of over 20 layers.
